Soil moisture and temperature, humidity, leaf wetness and atmospheric pressure sensors allow to control the amount of sugar in grapes to enhance wine quality, as well as to control micro-climate conditions to maximize the production of fruits and vegetables in greenhouses.
The three levels of depth of the soil moisture sensor are helpful to reduce waste of water by selective irrigation in dry zones. On the other hand, controlling humidity and temperature levels in hay, straw, etc. can prevent fungus and other microbial contaminants.
The data is sent to the Internet by the GW using Ethernet and 4G radios.

Cloud Solution
DVM’s SmartFarm solution is developed on Thingworx using all the sensors in Libelium’s Smart Agriculture Kit. Application monitors and shows temperature, humidity, pressure and wind speed/direction. Weather data is also collected from the cloud and comparative analysis graphs gets created. Soil moisture from 2 different depths are collected, as well as soil temperature and leaf wetness.
Users can set up smart alarms for soil moisture, preventing the soil moisture to reach unwanted highs or lows. SmartFarm application supports monitoring from multiple locations in the farm land. All historical data are shown by interactive graphics and the data interval can be adjusted by the user.
